That same thing happened to me. All you can do is help them to trust you and let them know what a good guy he is, and that he is trying to graduate with his GED. Although, if there is a reason that he doesn’t have a diploma by the time he is 19, there might be something wrong. It wouldn’t hurt to take a second to take a look at their position.
