I am very interested in joining the Coast Guard. Every guy in my family has served in one of the five branches, and I love boats and being on the water, so I picked the Coast Guard. Only thing is I am newly married and have a 3 year old son. I’m getting a lot of conflicting info on whether or not I have to travel a lot,whether I have a choice on where I go, and how long at a time I will be away from my family. I don’t normally trust recruiters because in the past they have come accross as car salesmen,so I’m hoping the get the real deal from someone who know what they are talking about.
