Okay, here’s a fact:
“In God we trust” first appeared on US currency around the time of the American Civil War.
The Founding Fathers, many of whom were deists and strongly opposed to state-sanctioned religion, likely would have never allowed such a thing to be placed on the currency, but they were all long dead by the time a group of Christians got their hands on the reins of power and made that change.
The motto was adopted as the “national motto” in 1956, when, again, Christians got their hands on the reins of power and were able to use the mounting terror of “godless communism” to have their way.
