So here is the HUGE problem. I have really let my family down. I have been going to school for the last two years for my alternative teaching degree. I took my test to get my degree and I passed everything but the math. So I told my family that I passed because they were putting so much pressure on me. So then I told them that I would be teaching 3rd grade and went into detail about it…..I guess to make it seem realistic? To make a long story short, my mom found out and is deeply hurt and embarrased, which I totally understand. I wanted to make my family proud of me because I got pregnant last year out of wed lock which is a HUGE no-no in my strict Christian family. I was with my bf for 8 years, so we loved each other and ended up getting married anyway. Okay, back to my situation, What can I do? I have already apologized and I know my words are worthless right now. I don’t think my mom will ever think of me the same again. I feel like I have let my son down. I just don’t think I will ever pass the math…….and I have had a tutor. I just didn’t want to come all that way, and let my family down—I guess that is why I lied. Please no rude or harsh answers. I already know I did wrong by lying, and have definately learned my lesson. After getting pregnant, and now this, I really don’t think my mom or family will want to have anything to do with me again!

You are going to have to learn that math and pass the test. You can make them proud of you again by really doing what you said you did.

I agree. You need to do whatever it takes to pass that test. If you’re really sorry you’ll try that much harder. Do what you said you were going to do. It may surprise and impress the family.
If you want to be a teacher, then you will need the math. Learn it and retake the test. Turn your lies into promises.
As far as the other, get married. (A re-read shows you already did this!)
Third, never, NEVER lie again. Lying is a temporary fix that only makes things worse when you are found out. You can’t undo the past, but you have the option of not repeating it.
Give the healing time. You have hurt your family, but they are family and will forgive you. Give it time and make good on your promises.
