I just recently got a siamese kitten that is about 5 months old. She let me hold her during the car ride home after we adopted her from the shelter. But when we get home she goes right under the bed and she wont come out. how long will it take for her to trust my family?

the mother cat patrol around the kitten, if i get too close, the mother runs away, if i stay within distance, she will just stare at me
