family trust
Riki asked:

Little background first. I am 21 years old, I currently live on my own. but when this occurred I lived with my dad, older brother (27), and step mom. Also my step-sister would sometimes come to the house to do her laundry but she didn’t live there. she was 20. I was only there on a short period of time, during a transistion in between apartments.

I do NOT get along with my stepmom or step sister and dont have the best relationship with either my dad or older brother. My real mom passed away when i was 13 and I have felt like Ive had a very dysfunctional life since and family.

So the actual incident that occurred that has left me questioning is..

I had left my laptop on the living room table in our house, I went to the dentist and came back. my laptop was still there. I began playing with my dog and fell asleep at the opposite end of the house in my room. I woke up around 2 hrs later and discovered my laptop had been stolen. I am 100% positive i didnt misplace it, it was connected to power cable, wireless mouse and computer speakers. All of which were still located there.

Now, I am very positive no one would break it at 12:00pm mid afternoon into our house. we live in a great neighborhood, in the middle of a coldasack. I am sure i spelt that wrong. but anyways, my dog goes nuts if someone she doesnt know approaches the house from miles away.

Which made me think it was either my brother or stepmom, or very unlikely but its possible my stepsister came to do her laundry like she sometimes does and could have taken it. I ruled out my dad because he was at work.

My brother has been known to pawn things off to pay for bills like his car, my stepmom is a pathelogical liar, bipolar and hates me and my laptop for some reason, and my stepsister is pretty much the same and doesnt like me at all.

All 3 of them are very capable of stealing it, I am very disgusted and distraught over this. I am over the fact that my laptop is stolen, cause that is a materialistic item that I can replace. but I dont know who did it, I have a strong cause to believe it was one of those 3, but I cannot prove it.

I called the police, and filed a report, but thats probably not gunna help or solve anything.

What should I do? How do I approach family occasions with this in the back of my mind, any suggestions??/
