I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend since I was 16 ( I am 19 now) and I have never really gotten the respect that I deserve from my family. My boyfriend and I met over the internet, and it was not our intentions to be together, it just happened that way. (If you are going to judge me for being in a relationship that STARTED on the internet then I don’t want your opinion). My boyfriend is trying to get his GED and my family thinks that he will not do what he is supposed to do…and that he will live off of me. What should I do? How can I get them to support me like I deserve?
We don’t live together yet. I am in college.

My cousins and I received a trust fund from my uncle when he passed away many years ago. All of us used our piece of the trust to pay for our college educations and we are super thankful for that! However 2 of the people attached to the trust, were non-existent in our family due to a separation (its a long story) they were never claimed their piece of the trust and were eventually legally adopted by their new father. Their trust money is basically sitting and doing nothing (as far as we are aware) and I wondered if that is something my cousins and I should look into. Is there a chance we are entitled to their portion of the fund due to the fact that they were adopted and legally no longer part of the family and/or there might be a clause that states something like this in the trust. Thanks!
For all the people that think this is a greed thing, it isn’t. 15 years of trying to contact the other cousins is a long frustrating experience. I would be fine giving the money to charity but I dont think it sitting in the trust forever and ever is the way to go and I just wondered if there are other options. After receiving such opinionated responses, I have decided to not pursue it any longer and therefore allow the lawyer to attempt to find the cousins (which he wont) because we have tried and failed for many years. Thanks to my first reply for a non-opinionated, non-judgemental direct, factual answer. Thanks!

My grandmother passed away and I am looking to purchase her house. The house now belongs to her trust, ‘the estate of …’. I will need to take out a $185,000 loan even with a down payment of over 20%.
IRS tax form 5405 states: “Who Cannot Claim the Credit” “You acquired your home from a related person. A related person includes: Your spouse, ancestors (parents, grandparents,
etc.), or lineal descendants (children, grandchildren,
etc.).”
It sounds pretty clear that if she was alive, I would not qualify. But by my interpretation of the wording, I am not buying this from my grandparent, a person; I am buying it from her trust/estate, an entity.
Do I qualify for the credit? If possible, please reference your answer. Thanks in advance!

I’ve heard it said that to have a lawyer set up a ‘living trust’ costs around $2,000. My belongings don’t qualify for that level of legal bucks. I’m 73 and don’t want my Children to be unclear of my wishes about what little I have to leave them. It cost $ to tend to the belongings of those that die.
